As title says, I bough 2 weeks ago a 980m to Eurocom (aka upgradeyourlaptop in ebay) and from the begining card never did work.

Win8.1 pro 64bits, recognize as compatible vga adaptor, you must use modded drivers for install, but when you try launch a game, or launch 3dmark, or gpuz, or hwinfo64..... laptop did crashed, or freezy.

My laptop is an Alienware AW17 of december 2013, it cames with 780m, 3d screen(which must remove and install an older 900p screen of a friend when I tryed 980m), 24gb, 4930mx.....

After more than 5 days with reinstall windows, drivers, clean install, never, I repeat, NEVER, didn`t can make this card work in my laptop, in otr forums people try in m17xR4 and AW18 and m18x r2, with the same result, 980m for the momento is no compatible with aour laptops.

Now I have a not compatible card, I sold my old 880m 1 month ago, and if I try any app or game that should use vga card, laptop freezys, crashes,..... and loose My money too, because Eurocom aka upgradeyourlaptop say the card is working.....

As i told in other post, there is no compatibility now for alienware with any 980m from clevo or msi, this cards did use optimus, no 3d screen, no sli, and in w8 always crash and freezy laptop.

I bought one 980m m eurocom and tha card didn`t work anytime. I own an AW17 last model.

for the momento, there is no compatible 980m for aw, sli is not possible, because 980 uses optimus in all AW, you could see more detailed info at techinferno
